| In a real application, a web server would run
software and hardware to access the client mainframe much the same way
a normal user would. The difference is that the web-based system can be
accessed by any PC user which has been given authority to do so, even if
they do not normally have access to the mainframe directly. The web-based
system can be made simpler and easier to use with the addition of point-and-click
help and integration with other web-based, but non-mainframe applications,
systems, and databases. |
